Pathways friends at Pancake House

IF THERE are people I will never ever forget, my friends from Pathways T’nalak Youth Group will be first on the list. A big chunk of the kind of person I am today was formed while I was working with them. They are the ones whom I could say I have been very blessed to meet.

Earlier this evening, I had the chance to spend time with them again and it feels so good to know that even as we now play different roles in our respective fields and professions, nothing much has changed about how it feels to be with them. The old jokes still sell. The friendly insults — if such kind of stuff exists — still work.

It makes me think that if you have been real from the start, people would not notice much changes in you if they see you again after a long time of absence.

We took advantage of the chance that we are here in Manila. Kuya Jay has just returned from his community work in Africa. Ate Amor is here for a planning conference with fellow Singles for Christs leaders. I am here for a weeklong workshop. Ate Aya, Kuya (Atty.) Joe, Emarie, Aethen, and Kuya Ronan who are working here in Manila and Maahn and Gerard who are working as computer programmers in Cavite also came for a dinner at Pancake House inside Gateway.

For quite a long time, I have never laughed as hard as I did a few hours ago. I am very thankful that these guys are still the same persons I used to know.
