My nominees for the Top 10 Emerging & Influential Blogs 2011 are the following:

1. The Teacher’s Notebook – When I won a domain and hosting package from a blog contest, I decided to turn my dream of putting up a blog about teaching and learning, which I intend to be of help to students and teachers. The blog has over 500 (and growing) fans on Facebook and has gained a considerable traffic  and regular readers despite my being laid back in promotion and SEO.

2. Mother Instincts – Sheng, as she is fondly called in the blogosphere, is a supermom. She juggles her daytime job, her extra earning stints, and motherhood, and still can manage to extend herself in the blogosphere, providing valuable content about being a family woman.

3. Eats Terrific –  Being influential emanates from the person himself. Whatever Sir Orman does clicks. His blog about being the big gastronome that he is simply stands out among the best food blogs there are because of his straightforward and honest way of reviewing food and restaurants.

4. Kikay Much - If you have met Donna, you would really think that, with her upscale taste in fashion and natural kikay-ness, she owes every girl a fashion blog.  Girls, you should thank her for starting a blog where she shares her secrets that you are dying to know. Her blog can your guide to beauty and fashion.

5. IanEssence -  He keeps a very cool blog on tumblr. His blog tells of how cool he manages to live the life of a yuppie who is trying to fit into the world of the grown ups. I don’t personally know this blogger but his blog communicates his persona and makes me feel as if I’ve known him long enough.

6. FitMStyle  – If there would be a search for the worst-dressed blogger, I might be one of the top 10, and if there is one male fashion blog I’d follow, it would be this. I’m looking forward to learn from Richard‘s posts and incorporate it into my lifestyle. Who knows he would feature me there one day?

7. Pinay Travelogue – Lynette is a photographer’s wife and her blog is filled with beautiful photos of her travels and other fascinating things about her life. She has once written a powerful post about outsiders’ misconceptions of Mindanao, which earns her my recommendation to be in one of the top emerging blogs this year.

8. General Joana –  Joana is a fellow educator and like most of us Mindanao bloggers, we resolve to create a real picture of Mindanao in our blogs. She is quite new to blogging, but I know that with  her wit she can make a difference in the blogosphere.
