Trail Running in Alabel, Sarangani Province
I STARTED April with an enjoyable outdoor activity with friends who share the same interests with me. GenSan Run Club active member and fellow photography enthusiast Marvin de Asis invited me and 17 others to a Fun Run to Lake Beto in my hometown, Alabel.
We ran the trail from the Sarangani Provincial Capitol to Barangay Spring, where the calm Lake Beto sits. I haven’t run since I got busy with all the paper work as the school year was nearing its end, so I feared getting cramps or sprain along the way. And, yes, I feared if I could complete the over 10-km trail, which involves some uphill climbs and downhill runs.
Fortunately, I was able to successfully hurdle the challenge. From Lake Beto, we ran back to the provincial capitol following a different route, passing through Ladol.
I am seeing my summer vacation to be filled with outdoor activities such as this. I have already several plans in mind. I just pray that God will give me good health and enough time and resources to carry out my plans for summer.
Have a great summertime, everyone!
